C. G. Uhlenberg LLP (CGU) was founded as a sole proprietorship in 1927. The present partnership was formed in 1947 and is one of the largest CPA firms on the San Francisco peninsula. Including five partners, our staff represents a full spectrum of auditors, tax advisors, accountants and consultants to collectively accomplish the objectives and goals of our clients.

We take pride in the quality of services we provide our clients. Our extensive partner involvement and size of our practice ensure the highest caliber of expertise for each situation encountered by our clients. We have devoted our practice to establishing a relationship with each client individually. This is accomplished by developing an understanding of our clients’ needs and committing a high level of involvement and enthusiasm at all levels. It is this understanding and service that has allowed us to excel in a variety of areas and diversify our client base. We continue to seek new service areas and market niches. In the recent years we have expanded to include a variety of foreign based companies. Several members of our staff are fluent in foreign languages.

CGU meets the challenge by a combination of on-the-job guidance, formal training and technical review to provide the necessary insight to contribute to the growth and profitability of our clients’ enterprises.

Simply stated, CGU is committed to maintaining its most important assets, our clients. We serve a diverse clientele with simple to complex tax and accounting needs. Our clients include a cross section from individual taxpayers to multi-state corporations. We recognize the importance of involvement in professional associations and, therefore, encourage employee membership in various organizations including the American Institute of certified Public Accountants, the California Society of CPAs, Government Finance Officers Association and local civic groups. Our involvement with these professional organizations together with our commitment to qualify control demonstrates our desire to better assist our clients with any needs they may have.

Asia Pacific Clientele

We currently serve a variety of multi-national businesses with either headquarters or subsidiaries in countries such as People's Republic of China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, and Korea. As auditor of U.S. subsidiaries of many foreign public entities, we work closely with several international firms. We have maintained a good reputation of meeting vigorous deadlines and extensive reporting requirements. Three of our partners, Peggy Chen, Julie Lin, and Katherine Chao, as well as a number of staff members, speak fluent Mandarin, Cantonese, Taiwanese or Shanghainese.
