Kathy Chao
Kathy joined CGU in 1992. She has gained valuable experience in one of the largest high tech companies in the country prior to becoming a partner at CGU. Kathy's areas of expertise include taxation, auditing and financial reporting. She serves a wide spectrum of clients. In the area of taxation, her clientele expand from individuals to public companies. Her specialties also include international tax planning and consulting for multi-national companies. She is fluent in multiple Chinese dialects. In the area of auditing, she specializes in US subsidiaries of foreign-based companies, venture backed start-up companies and employee benefit plans.
Kathy's philosophy on client services is to be engaging and responsive while maintaining the highest level of integrity. She takes pride in being able to communicate in a way that people feel comfortable about the financial decisions she helps them make.
Jeff Ira
Jeff brings more than 20 years of experience to CGU. Since joining CGU in 1984, Jeff has advised clients with a multitude of business needs in financial consulting and accounting services, including tax, trust and estate planning, valuations, mergers, acquisitions, dissolutions and succession planning. He also provides litigation support and has testified as an expert witness at several trails. Most recently he has added wealth management services for his clients. As a result of his involvement with his clients, he has helped them enjoy improved efficiencies and greater profitability. He has developed a relationship with clients based on creativity, integrity and trust.
Jeff cares about his community and his clients which enables him to make a difference. He has been on the City Council in Redwood City for 12 years and is currently the Mayor of Redwood City. He also serves on the Board of Directors at a number of community organizations. This involvement creates a unique ability to view things from a different perspective which has been invaluable to our governmental and not-for-profit clients.
